Enactus, previously known as Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), is a global non-profit organisation that creates community development projects that put people's own ingenuity and talents at the centre of improving their livelihoods.

We as students, together with the community, business leaders and the support of the Enactus National office, use our talents, passions and ideas we each possess to tap into the entrepreneurial spirit that enables human progress.

In short, EN-ACT-US is all about empowering the community through entrepreneurship and it actually stands for: ENtrepreneurial ACTion for others creates a better world for US all.

Enactus Rhodes University Society has elevated itself as a beacon of hope in mentoring of entrepreneurs within the Grahamstown community. The ultimate goal of producing entrepreneurs with efficient skills to stabilize and grow the economy of the community while having a social impact and creating job opportunities - in the context of unemployment and other prevalent social ills. This is done with consideration to the environment. Enactus Rhodes creates the mentoring hub while assuring that the environment is not harmed and negatively impacted by any activities we participate in. It is through a community working as one that a goal of achieving and promoting the growth of Grahamstown is possible.

Enactus Rhodes students apply learning experiences to develop and implement educational outreach programs that teach individuals in the community various important business principles, including environmental sustainability and ethics. Enactus Rhodes University is part of a global network of about 36 countries. We annually raise the Rhodes University flag high against 27 Universities at the national competitions held by Enactus South Africa annually.
