Information on Fees

Dear Students,

Please receive the following information:

During March of every year, the Student Fees Office is tasked with creating the Student Fee Account.  This entails showing all relevant fees that will be due by you or your bursar for the current academic year as per the Shchedule of Fees on the web (http://www.ru.ac.za/studentfeesandfinancialaid/).  The student Fee Account will reflect some of the following charges:

  • Tuition fees
  • Residence fees
  • Late registration charges
  • Foreign Levy charges
  • Departmental handouts
  • Society charges
  • Printing charges, etc

We would as a norm also reflect any rebates/credits/discounts you are entitled to within the same timeframe. 

However this year there will be a bit of a delay on reflecting rebates/discount as this will only be run AFTER the completion of the DHET Grant Adjustment exercise.  This might take us to April 2017.

The March 2017 statement will thus only serve to provide you with information to verify that you have been charged correctly for tuition and residence if applicable. 

Once the DHET Grant Adjustment process is complete, all other entires (rebates/discounts/credits) will be done and we are hoping to show this on the April 2017 statement.

PLEASE ADVISE YOUR PARENTS/GUARDIANS/BURSARS OF THE ABOVE AS THEY DO NOT NEED TO CONTACT THE FEES OFFICE FOR REBATES.
