Sifiso Kweyama's steps feet into a Residency with First Physical

First Physical has been fortunate enough to have Sifiso Kweyama for a week's residency where he was able to share his knowlege and skill, take class and also choreograph the compnay's latest new work, Tracking Memories.

Born in Durban Kwa-Zulu Natal where he attended Nombayingana Combine School, Zeph Dlomo High School and Kwesethu High School in KwaMashu, Sifiso first joined PHENDUKA Dance Theatre in 1989 where he began his training under Alfred Hinkel (of Jazzart Dance Theatre in Cape Town). Stilted and Phezulu hit Kwa-zulu

"Stilted" and Phezulu crack the nod for Hilton Fest

Following the Phezulu Project’s great success at the National Arts Festival 2009 (featured briefly on SABC 2’s Morning Live), the NAF have extended their support to ensure the Phezulu Stilt Walkers get high at the prestigious Hilton Festival in KZN this September.

Youth Company take Gold at Eisteddfod!

For their first performance of the year, the First Physical Youth Company received a gold award at this year's Eastern Cape Eisteddfod. The award was for the category of Contemporary Dance, Group work, choreographed by resident performer and Youth Company co-ordinator Tshegofatso Tlholoe.

This work will now be extended and performed at this year's National Arts Festival in the "New Voices 2009" programme.
