Admission to the MSc Program in Exploration Geology

Prof Jock Harmer, the former director of the Exploration Geology MSc Program, has retired at the end of 2019.  The University is currently undertaking an assessment of the Program ahead of initiating the search for a new Director.  As a consequence, no new registrations will be accepted for until further notice.

The MSc in Exploration Geology is an intensive part-time coursework and thesis program over two years plus a field and practical course. The Exploration course involves the production of a thesis based on original research. The topic for and supervision of the research component in the Exploration Geology MSc Programme are discussed after acceptance of students into the program.

Minimum nominal requirements for the programme is a Geology Honours degree + 3 years exploration work experience.

Note that eligibility for the programme does not mean you will automatically be accepted for it. There are a limited number of places available for each two-year cycle of the programme.
