On behalf of myself and the Rhodes University Health Suite Weights Facility staff, I would like to welcome all new and returning students who will be a part of the Health Suite in 2013.
We aim to build on a successful 2012 that oversaw a series of alterations and the introduction of new equipment that has enhanced the facilities we provide to our members. Further alterations and
equipment will be introduced during the course of the year and we kindly request your patience and co-operation during any disruptions these changes may cause.
We have an exciting schedule planned for the year that includes an induction and orientation programme for new members that will introduce you to our facilities and what we have to offer, the
Weights Facility fitness day as well as the annual cyclathon and Group Fitness
marathon.
We encourage all members to embrace the Health Suite and its facilities throughout the year and to reap the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle. Please feel free to contact me, any staff member
or the administration staff should you require any further information regarding the Health Suite Weights Facility.

What is considered the heart of the Health Suite, the Weights Facility, has grown and continues to grow from strength to strength. Our Facility boasts a comprehensive range of equipment including cardio machines (treadmills, cycles, walkers and steppers) as well as a wide variety of resistance machines and free weights. We also have a dedicated and well trained staff compliment who are there to assist you in any way possible, be it with a training technique or administrative information, as well as to ensure your safety.
In today’s world, the focus in the gym has shifted from what used to be strictly body building to overall health and wellness. The Health Suite encourages young or old, ‘healthy’ or ‘slim’ to come and join us for a holistic and fulfilling experience!!!
So, if you want to pump it up, come on down to the weights facility and let’s not only get those bodies and minds right for the summer, but keep them in tip top shape all year round!
