The Rhodes History Department Centenary Colloquium
16-17 SEPTEMBER 2011
This is to update you on the planning for the History Department’s centenary colloquium, set for 16-17 September (with a welcoming cocktail party on the evening of Thursday 15th). This circular includes information about participants, registration, accommodation and transport.
We have had about two dozen offers of papers/inputs. Some of these offers are tentative and yet to be confirmed. Some amount to full (or ‘fullish’) papers, others to shorter inputs. Those who have put forward such offers are listed below. We would be grateful if you could confirm your participation, and provide a tentative title for your paper/input, by 20 May, so that we can draw up a draft programme.
If there are others who would like to make an input there is still time to be included in the programme, but please let us know as soon as possible if you wish to do so.
Others have expressed an interest in attending without giving a paper. We are expecting forty or more to be present, including current staff and postgraduate students. If you know of other graduates and former staff, or other persons, who might be interested in attending, please let us have their contact details.
