Apart from sharing knowledge with the world's greatest researchers into the science of cricket, Dr Christie and the PhD's were able to attend two Cricket World Cup Matches (A quarter final between South Africa and Sri Lanka, and a Semi-Final between Australia and India). While at the quarter-final match a highlight was meeting up with the Conditioning Coaches of the respective sides: Darshan Weerasinghe for Sri Lanka, and Greg King for South Africa - both graduates of Rhodes' HKE Department!

In addition to the conference and the cricket, a research visit was scheduled to Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, New South Wales, where the HKE contingent were hosted by Professor Frank Marino and his wife, Trish. Professor Marino is Head of the Exercise Science and Sports Medicine department at Charles Sturt, and was a visiting lecturer to HKE in 2014.
