Labour inspectors receive Postgraduate Certificates in ErgonomicsDate Released: Fri, 9 December 2016 15:39 +0200
The first group of participants of the Ergonomics short course, developed by the HKE Department, who had successfully completed the course earlier this year, received their Postgraduate Certificate in Ergonomics during a special 'graduation ceremony' during an Occupational Health and Safety Conference hosted by the Department of Labour in Johannesburg in November 2016.
The 13 Department of Labour Inspectors received their certificates of competence, having successfully mastered the basic training requirements necessary to register as a Certified Ergonomics Associate with the Ergonomics Society of South Africa. The Deputy Minister of Labour, the Honourable Mr. Holomisa presented the graduants with their certificates, while the Deputy Director General: Inspector General Inspection and Enforcement Services, Ms Moiloa, as well as the Chief Inspector, Mr Szana were also present to congratulate the graduants.
Two more ergonomics courses will be presented in 2017 - one in Johannesburg, in collaboration with the National Institute of Occupational Health, and one in Grahamstown.
