New Staff

It is the HoD’s responsibility to ensure that new staff are given every opportunity to settle down into life at Rhodes University and in Grahamstown.

Please note that you are given the following support in this regard:

• Academic orientation programme run in January/February of each year by CHERTL. As HoD, please encourage new staff to attend this.  If you have staff joining at other times of the year, encourage them to contact CHERTL to set up an afternoon of sharing information. • Induction programme run by the HR Division. This deals with employment matters as opposed to professional issues which is addressed by the lecturer’s orientation programme. For more detail,
