Deans are a critical part of senior management, contributing to the governance of the institution, representing the views of academic staff.
The roles and responsibilities of Deans include providing academic leadership to the Faculty, representation of the needs of the Faculty as well as management and administration functions.

Deans are elected to their positions by the Faculty and serve a 3 year term of office. For information related to this process, please contact the Registrar’s Division.
Since the Deans position is an elected and not a permanent post, Deans receive allowances.
