Harassment and Unfair Discrimination
In the Mission and Vision Statement of Rhodes University, a commitment is made to developing shared values that embrace human rights and the underpinning fundamental dignity of all people. Unfair discrimination and harassment as a result of an individual's membership or perceived membership of a group significantly undermines this commitment. Behaviour stemming from racism, sexism, homophobia, harassment and vilification will be dealt with harshly.
A policy exists which governs how Rhodes deals with these issues for staff.
Eradicating Unfair Discrimination
In terms of this policy, it is the HoD's responsibility to ensure an environment free from unfair discrimination and harassment.
Assistance for staff who have experienced harassment and unfair discrimination can be sought from any Reporting Officer. Names and contact details of these Reporting Officers can be found in document below.
Staff needing counselling support can contact FAMSA. See counselling support link under well-being page.
