Group Life Cover
Note that the information below is applicable only to academic staff and support staff on grades 6 and above.
Staff on the Rhodes University Pension or Provident Fund administered by Alexander Forbes, are covered by a compulsory Group Life Policy underwritten by Capital Alliance Life until the end of the year in which the person turns 65. The cost of this is subsidised on a 50/50 basis. The policy pays out twice the member’s annual salary to the nominated beneficiary in the case of death or disability (as defined in the policy). Additional cover up to two times your annual salary can be purchased on joining the University or at major life events. This additional cover is not subsidised.
