Prof. Kadye completed his PhD in 2012 at Rhodes University. He was appointed as a lecturer in 2015, promoted to senior lecturer in 2019 and to associate professor in 2023 at Rhodes University’s Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science (DIFS). His research interests are in the fields of community ecology and invasion biology in freshwater ecosystems. In particular, he is interested in understanding stream ecosystem functioning, food web interactions, fisheries resource management and the general applications of statistical analysis and numerical ecology. He has also built good collaborative research in the field of taxonomy and molecular systematics of freshwater fishes. He is a co-investigator of the Ecology, Evolution and Systematics Group, a joint DIFS and South African Institute of Aquatic Biodiversity (SAIAB) research group dedicated to freshwater studies. He is a fellow of the DHET Future Professors Programme (FPP). He currently serves as the third-year course coordinator.
