TEACHING
Lectures aspects of fish biology, fisheries science, aquaculture, and scientific communication skills and supervises a number of post-graduate research students.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Advises and consults on aquaculture and fisheries development to private sector, government and development agencies. Active is promoting marine research through the Eastern Cape Research Association for Marine Resources (ECRAM), and South African Network for Coastal and Oceanic Research (SANCOR).
RESEARCH
Research interests include aquaculture technology development, aquaculture and fisheries economic development and sector planning, and multi-disciplinary approaches to marine resource research and management.
