Networks & Operations
The Networks & Operations section provides behind-the-scenes support for IT use and deployment on campus.
This section is overseen by the Manager: Systems, currently Mr Guy Halse.
It consists of two specialised sub-sections:
Networks
The Networks sub-section is responsible for installing and maintaining the physical network infrastructure that connects all computers on campus together, and to the Internet.
Systems Development & Administration
The Systems section is a team of highly skilled systems administrators that are responsible for providing and maintaining all centrally-provided ICT and network services on campus, such as e-mail, file & print sharing, Internet access, etc (they look after all the University's servers). The section also provides specialised third-tier support for these systems.
