Support for University Staff
Rhodes staff members with computer problems can contact our Help Desk for assistance. You can either e-mail them on support@ru.ac.za, phone them on 046 603 8288, or visit them in person on the middle floor of Struben building. The Help Desk is open during normal University office hours (weekdays between 08:00–13:00 & 14:00–17:00). No support is provided after hours.
Calls to our Help Desk are logged in our request tracking system, and assigned a unique ticket number to track the request. Staff can track the progress of their tickets by logging into our https://rt.ru.ac.za/ using their normal Rhodes username and password.
Important Notice
New software is frequently added to the IT Software Page
You will find all the major software packages supported and licensed by Rhodes University here. Downloads such as the official Rhodes University font and virus removal tools can also be found here. Note that Internet Explorer version 5 or higher is required to run these installations.
