Join the International Office, Dean of Students, WASA & the SRC in celebrating our African heritage, grappling with our challenges and reflecting on our past. Former President Mbeki has confirmed his attendance on Monday.

MONDAY 25 MAY - AFRICA DAY
* 13h00 - 15h00: Former President Thabo Mbeki Public Lecture, "The role of youth in the realization of the African Renaissance." (Rhodes Theatre)
TUESDAY 26 MAY
* ALL-DAY: SRC "I am an African" exhibition (Eden Grove)
WASA, in collaboration with the International Office, will be celebrating our African diversity and success. We particularly want to highlight the role women play in the progress Africa has made, and the challenges that we face as a continent.
* 17h30: WASA discussion "On experiences of being an African woman in an Academic context" (Eden Grove)
* 18h30: WASA Cocktail Party sponsored by the International Office (Eden Grove)
* 19h00: WASA Film screening 'The Little Girl Who Sold the Sun' (or 'La Petite Vendeuse du Soleil') by Djibril Diop Mambety (Eden Grove Blue)
* 20h00: WASA Film screening 'Moolaade' by Ousmane Sembene. Alternative readings on Female genital mutilation will be given to provide other perspectives on the issue. (Eden Grove Blue)
WEDNESDAY 27 MAY
Cult of Rhodes by Paul Maylam
