At this year's International Education Association of South Africa (IEASA) Conference, held at University of Fort Hare, Rhodes University was awarded the IEASA Golden Keys Award for excellence in internationalisation.
The award was made based on the proportion of international students registered at the university. Rhodes, as of 2008, has an international student body that makes up 21% of the students registered at Rhodes, which puts us ahead of all other South African Universities. Taking second place was the University of Cape Town, and third place was the University of Fort Hare.
