September 18, 2009

On Tuesday, 18 September, the International Office hosted a belated Welcome Tea for this semester's exchange and study abroad students. It was well attended, giving the new students a chance to meet those who were here last semester, as well as the few students who arrived after Orientation. Both Prof. Marius Vermaak, Dean: International Office, and Dr. Viv de Klerk, Dean of Students, welcomed the students and reminded them to have fun, but to not fall behind on their academic work.

This semester, we have 38 students from around the world - from America, Australia, Britain, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. We are also excited to welcome two students from Jinan University in China, who will be tutoring in the Confucius Institute.
We hope that our new students have a great semester!
