Rhodes International School 2013:
Environment, Development and Sustainability in Africa
Don't miss out!
25 June - 17 July 2013
Welcome Message
The Rhodes University International Office brings you the International School 2013. This year's school focuses on humankind's interaction with the environment in Africa. It will cover a host of topics, inlcuding:
- Climate Change.
- Development and Sustainability in rural African areas.
- The various Ecosystems in the Eastern Cape Region.
- African Environmental Literature.
All courses are hands-on, and students will get a chance to see the theory they have learnt put into practice in a fieldtrip around the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
Students from all over the world are invited to come join us for this excellent course which promises to be an eye-opener!
We also invite academics to consider joining their students to promote internationalisation in the field of Environmental Studies. This is an excelllent opportunity to promote international research in environmental studies.
The RU International School makes special use of its unique access to the various regions of the Eastern Cape, drawing on the indigenous knowledge of people who have lived here for centuries to provide students with an opportunity to study humankind's interaction with the environment from both a practical and theoretical perspective.
The site contains important information for students prior to their arrival - please check it out.
We also see the site as a developing record of the International School which was birthed in 2006. You can look at the programmes and photographs from previous years under School Archives.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Grahamstown at the end of June 2013!
