International Summer School 24 June – 22 July

What are you doing this winter break? Have you thought about attending the International Summer School?

Are you perhaps interested in an intensive course that:

• Offers an overview of an important and fascinating theme – the South African transition from Apartheid to democracy - combined with a focus on a special topic?

• Blends political and social theory and practice and allows students to get hands-on experience or engage in service learning?

• Is taught by the best and most experienced lecturers and researchers at Rhodes University?

• Incorporates the National Arts Festival in the syllabus?

• Allows you to mix with international students from universities like Harvard & Princeton?

Rhodes students are invited to apply. We are looking for 3rd year students and above.

A background in the social sciences is not required.

Please submit the following to Lesley McQuaid, International Office, Eden Grove:

• Personal and contact details

• Your cv

• A brief (half page) statement of why you would like to participate in the Summer School

• A short confidential report (sealed) by a warden or lecturer

• Your academic transcript

Tuition will be free, but participants will need R180 x 29 days for full board and lodging. If you need financial assistance, please provide a breakdown of your needs.

The deadline for applications is 25 May, 2006
