Kainos Muswinu is pursuing PhD studies focusing on the role of university- business collaboration and how this contributes to sustainable economic development. The research will explore and establish how co-operation between university and business can foster, if any, development of appropriate strategies that enhance graduate employability. Kainos worked extensively in the economic and social development sectors in Zimbabwe with focus on youth development with the most recent role covering internship and employability of in and out of university youth.
He has done part-time lecturing for undergraduates at the Zimbabwe Institute of Public Administrators’ and Management (ZIPAM) in Darwendale, Zimbabwe. His research interests include the role of higher education in Zimbabwe's and the region's economic developments with a particular focus on graduate employment.
