Training
The Biocultural Diversity Conservation cluster held a four-day SANPAD training workshop in November to plan the methodological approach to be adopted for the project entitled: Understanding modernized rural peoples’ cultural landscapes. Implications for biodiversity and nature conservation in the context of the political and land-use history of South Africa. The workshop was attended by local experts and Wageningen University’s Dr Freerk Wiersum and Dr Maarten Jacobs.
Through the Quality of Life research on Tubercolosis, the Development Research Africa trained a team of 20 fieldworkers in sampling procedures and interview techniques in advance of the survey conducted in Grahamstown East/Rhini. 9 November 2007.
The SANERI study on energy use by SMMEs in the Eastern Cape undertook training of six fieldworkers.
