David Rabkin project for Experiential Journalism
Grocott's Mail has undergone many changes in its long history. In 2003, Rhodes University bought the paper to set up the David Rabkin Project for Experiential Journalism training. Rhodes University is the sole shareholder of this Limited Liability company and any profits go to student bursaries at the university.
Vision: To produce viable and high-quality independent media that serve the community of Grahamstown as well as the training interests of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University.
Mission: To simultaneously serve the community and to develop new ways in which journalism is taught at university level in South Africa.

Dip Professional Advertising, NC Sales Management (IMM) Greg has 24 year’s experience in media and was previously the Publisher of the Citizen Newspaper and National Sales Manager for The independent Newspaper group. He studied a diploma in professional advertising and has IMM national certificate in sales management, as well as a certificate course in newspaper management from the Sol Plaatjie institute at Rhodes.

Production manager, formerly subeditor, for Grocott’s Mail, Sue has worked as copy sub for Republican Press/ Caxton magazines, layout/ copy senior sub for the Sunday Tribune and other KZN titles, later Independent Production. Arts, leisure, sports (cycling) writing and some news reporting has been mostly for these titles and now Grocott’s Mail.

Avuyile covers Municipal Affairs for Grocott’s Mail. Avuyile has worked for the Daily Dispatch, SMG Africa, Eastern Cape Today as a reporter. She was a finalist in the 2013 Sanlam MDDA Local Media awards in the Hard News category.

Anele has worked for the Daily Voice (Independent Newspapers) and The Rep in Queenstown (Times Media) as a news reporter.
SENIOR DESIGNER (GROCOTT’S MAIL)
Donnay has been the Senior Designer at Grocott’s Mail for the past 11 years. She designs pages for the print edition of Grocott’s Mail, as well as most of the advertisements placed in the print edition. Key to the newspaper’s print production operation, she works mostly with InDesign and Photoshop.
SPORTS EDITOR & CHIEF PHOTOGRAPHER (GROCOTT’S MAIL)
Stephen was the Sanlam Community Press Photographer of the Year in 2005, with judges calling the collection "flawless". At the age of 12, his first photograph appeared in Grocott’s Mail. As a permanent staff member since 1998, Stephen worked his way from photographer and advert designer to his current position. An avid sportsperson, he runs and cycles, and was selected for the SA duathlon team in 2012 and 2013.
NEW MEDIA PRODUCER
BA (Hons) (Rhodes)
Kayla manages the Grocott's Mail Online website, shoots and edits videos, and writes articles for both print and web. She is currently busy with her MA in Journalism and Media Studies.
