PHD
Doctoral studies are undertaken by full thesis and under the guidance of supervisors.
Students are accepted depending on staff availability, the candidate’s academic record, and in relation to the topic.
Prospective students are invited to enquire about the possibility of being accepted. If you wish to be considered for PhD studies, your request should be accompanied by the following:
- A Curriculum Vitae;
- A proposal that outlines the field of research the interests you, your research question and proposed methodology;
- A copy of your Masters thesis if possible or related publications; and
- A motivation for your acceptance

FUNDING
The Rhodes University prestigious scholarships for PhD research in the fields of Citizenship, Nation and Identity.
Applications to study full-time at Rhodes University in 2010 are invited from suitably qualified candidates. Recognising that diversity is important in achieving excellence, South African members of designated groups are especially encouraged to apply. The awards are valued at R75 000.
