Paper Trail blazers rewarded

Second year broadcast journalism students received certificates on Monday 25 November for their excellent work in this semester's Radio series, "Paper Trail". Head of School Larry Strelitz and Radio lecturer Jeanne du Toit handed over the awards.

The series comprised of 10 shows, each dealing with a different aspect of campus student newspapers at Rhodes and other universities in the country, and aired each morning and afternoon on RMR 89.7fm during Swot Week. The entire series is available on Activate online.

Julia Fish for the best written script of the series;

Saya Pierce-Jones for best anchor of the series;

Jane Berg for innovative series imaging;

Jarryd Munslow for innovative series imaging;

Lesedu Ntuli for innovative series imaging;

Zinhle Hlatswayo for innovative series imaging;

Ashlea Callender-Easby for leadership in marketing;

Zintle Dolweni for best produced packaged of the series;

Olwethu Boso for best producer of the series;

Azande Sidyiyo for best producer of the series;

Joseph Minde for best technical team of the series;

Nolo Lakaje for best technical team of the series;

Adrienne Weidner for best marketing contribution to series identity;

Anelisa Salavu for best marketing contribution to series identity;

Lelethu Gxuluwe for best marketing contribution to series identity;

Olana Tywabi for best marketing contribution to series identity; and

Zanele Mukhari for best marketing contribution to series identity.

The Language Show received the award for the best show of the series.
