Jeanne Prinsloo

Jeanne Prinsloo taught full-time at Rhodes from 2002 to 2010. Now she splits her time between independent research and teaching based in Durban and her affiliation with Rhodes for which she undertakes research, teaching and supervision of postgraduate students in JMS. She also holds an honorary professorship with Communications, Cultural and Media Studies at UKZN and serves on the editorial board of the journals Critical Arts, Journal of Children and Media, and Communication Inquiry.
Her primary research interests relate to media representations and issues of identity and social justice more broadly. Within this broad area, she has focused on gender and childhood/youth frequently.

Lorenzo Dalvit

Prof Dalvit teaches a variety of courses in new media and mobile. He supervises and conducts research on all aspects relating to new media, with a particular focus on the use of mobile phones in a developmental context. He is involved in a number of outreach programmes in collaboration with national and international NGOs. He has established collaborations with academic and research institutions in Africa and Europe.
