John Van Onselen graduated BA (Stell) LLB (UCT) in 1984 and has been practicing as an attorney since his admission in 1987, initially in private practice for some 20 years, and then for Legal Aid South Africa since 2007 (in the civil litigation unit of the Grahamstown Justice Centre since 2010). He has part-time teaching experience in civil procedure at NWU and runs regular training workshops for CAs at the Justice Centre.
