Kate studied at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg where she obtained her MSc in Applied Mathematics in the area of Mathematical Modelling. She went on to lecture at the University of Natal and then at Rhodes University in the Department of Mathematics from 2008-2010. She is actively involved in the lives of her children, husband and local church. She will be teaching Numeracy Skills at the Faculty of Law.
