RULES AND INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
(effective from 2nd term, 2012)
- Students may not take into the test venue, or have in their possession whilst in such a venue, any cellphone, book, memoranda, notes, papers or other materials whatsoever, except answer books or such other books or materials as shall have been supplied or authorised by the invigilator.
- Any bags and/or other items referred to in paragraph 1 above that are brought to the test venue must be left with the invigilator at the front (e.g. Moot Room, Graham Room) or back of the test venue, as directed by the invigilator.
- A student found in possession of any of the items referred to in paragraph 1 above during a test will be in contravention of Rule 4 of the Student Disciplinary Code and will face the consequences set out in that Rule.
- Students who are found to have cheated or colluded with one another in any way in writing a test will likewise be dealt with in terms of the Student Disciplinary Code.
- Students must be seated at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time of commencement of the test, when test question papers will be handed out and placed face downwards before each student.
- Scripts must be handed in immediately once the prescribed time has elapsed. No extra time will be granted to late-comers.
- A make-up test in the form of either a written or an oral test (to be decided by the lecturer concerned) will be offered to students who miss the scheduled test with a valid LOA. No other students will be permitted to do a make-up test.
- Students who have a valid LOA for a make-up test will not be granted a further make-up test; rather, the test will no longer count towards the calculation of the course record for that course, and the course record will be based only upon the other course work normally assessed for the purpose of the course record, and count for proportionately less of the total mark for the course.
