Description
Mathematical modelling is the simulation of a real-world process using mathematical notions. In this course, a student will learn basic techniques for model formulation, analysis and implementation.
Topics
Modelling with: systems of linear and non-linear differential equations, systems of linear and non-linear recurrence relations, dynamical systems, Markov systems. Applications to a variety of real-world situations including: chemical processes, diseases, mechanics, various stochastic processes (such as throwing dice and coins, card games).
