 Music, culture & history: Music, Health & the Brain (MCH 1 MH)

This interdisciplinary half-credit, one semester course includes modules covering the relationship between music and emotions, human identity and meaning, language, sports psychology, music therapy, and neuroscience. It is a study of human engagement with music, encompassing musical cognition, communication, expression and creativity, as well as music’s therapeutic potential. MCH 1 HM is taught in the second semester. Lectures take place in the Music Department’s Beethoven Room on Mondays at 12:20; Tuesdays at 14:15; Wednesdays at 15:10 and Thursdays at 16:05.

Practicals / Tuts: Fri 14:15;15:10;16:05 and one week session TBC
