Publications and Branding
The external communications section produces a range of corporate publications on behalf of Rhodes University that strengthen the institutional brand by promoting the work and activities of the University. A combination of print and web format communications offer an opportunity to increase awareness of and generate support for the University.
One of our main responsibilities is the production of several key publications and promotional materials that service key stakeholders in the activities of the University. These include: Walk about Rhodes, a Z-card incorporating the campus map and our campus tours brochure; Rhodes at a Glance, a booklet outlining key fact and figures about Rhodes University, student life on campus and academic opportunities; the annual Student Handbook which offers academic guidance to prospective students; departmental annual reports; and the University’s alumni publication, Rhodos. Some of these publications are available online while paper copies can be requested from this office.

In conjunction with the Web Unit, the section is responsible for all aspects of the home page of the University website, www.ru.ac.za, including maintaining content and regularly updating the news pages.
Corporate Identity
In conjunction with the Graphic Services Unit, the communications section is responsible for maintaining the Rhodes University brand identity. If you wish to make use of the University logo on print or electronic documentation intended to represent Rhodes in any way please contact us for the appropriate graphics and templates or for advice on correct and appropriate use of the brand.
