This will take place in the Chemistry Major Lecture venue on Monday 13th February. At 11am, Professor Santy Daya will introduce students to the Faculty of pharmacy and the Bpharm degree. There will be a question and answer session and at around 12, Professor Lund will provide an inspirational talk, covering the following key aspects:
Promote SET and innovation among students at tertiary institutions and amongst high school learners at science centres in South Africa;
Clarify the fields of expertise of the award winners among students and learners;
Highlight career opportunities in SET for students and learners; and
Enhance public understanding and the knowledge of communities
Professor Crick Lund

Pioneered the development & evaluation of mental health policy & services, & the identification of the major social determinants of mental health in low & middle-income countries
Professor Lund’s research has pioneered the development of mental health policies & services to address the growing burden of mental illness in SA & other low & middle-income countries (LMIC). His scientific work has had a significant impact on the development of norms for mental health services; drafting of national mental health policies; development of WHO guidelines for mental health policy & services; identification of major social determinants of mental illness in LMIC; interventions that address the cycle of poverty & mental illness; & delivery & evaluation of new models of mental health care.
