Meesbah Jiwaji

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology.

I originally came to Rhodes University (from Kenya) in 1996 to do a 3 year BSc degree. I liked both the university and the town so much that I stayed and did my Honours and PhD degrees here too.

As a non-South African and a postdoctoral researcher, I am familiar with the issues that we face as non-permanent staff members. It is for this reason that I would like to represent the postdoctoral staff at Rhodes University.
