This week we will be reading, "Philosophy and the Idea of Infinity," by Emmanuel Levinas. Some modern philosophers, Descartes among them, have used our ability to conceive of the infinite--a concept that has more reality than our minds--as a central claim in their arguments for the existence of God. In this essay Levinas takes such reasoning to task offering his own explanation for the possibility of our possessing such a strange concept.
Thanks to Keagan for choosing this week's reading. I hope you can join us.
