Value in Environmental Ethics Debates

The notion of intrinsic value has been at the centre of controversies in environmental ethics debates, with some critics (Bryan Norton, Andrew Light, Lori Gruen and others) arguing that much of the confusion that has characterised these debates can be avoided by abandoning the idea of intrinsic value. I disagree and I will propose an alternative way of avoiding confusion.
