Siphokazi is a Lecturer and PhD student in the department. She teaches International Relations, and African security and development.
Current research:
Her research interests are the security-development nexus in Africa within the postconflict reconstruction/peacebuilding context, security sector governance and reform, gender and the security sector, the postcolonial African Diaspora and South African foreign policy. She previously worked as a research consultant for the Security Sector Governance programme of the Institute for Security Studies in Pretoria focusing on the role of women in peace and security in Africa where she did field work in Rwanda, Sudan and Uganda.
