On Wednesday 26 September Jacques Depelchin presented a talk on the topic: ‘The Democratic Republic of the Congo: Africa’s First World War?’. The talk was organized by Thinking Africa, a project of the Department of Political and International Studies. Jacques Depelchin is a Congolese historian who is currently spending six months in the Departments of History and Political and International Studies as the 2012 Hugh le May fellow.
