Research in the Department
All staff members carry out research as part of their everyday work. For individual research projects and publications look at individual profiles under Staff.
Training in research is part of all courses in Psychlogy, and becomes especially important in Postgraduate courses.
Research consultancy is offered by some staff members individually and by CASRA.
Students conducting research for Honours, Master's and Doctoral degrees should first find a staff member who can supervise them, undergo an application process and then, under supervision, prepare a research proposal, before proceeding with the research itself. For extensive details and documents.
Those wanting information on how to apply for acceptance into the Masters-by-thesis or Doctorate programmes may find all relevant information in the same Research Proposals section.
All research conducted at the University must conform with the Ethical Standards set out by the University's Ethical Standards Committee. The Psychology Department's Research Projects Review Committee evaluates whether research in Psychology meets these requirements adequately.
