Staff Research Development Grants
The Mellon Humanities and Social Science Academic Staff Development Grant supports the employment of replacement lecturers to allow staff members to take special leave to complete a Doctoral thesis, or an associated scholarly output which will advance their academic career at Rhodes University. This award scheme commenced in 2008, and is intended to run until 2012.
Mellon Academic Staff Development
The Claude Leon Merit Award for Lecturers in the Science Faculty supports lecturers with emerging research records in this faculty to complete a PhD thesis, finish a piece of work for publication, or make substantial headway in a large project to produce an associated scholarly output which will advance their academic career at Rhodes University. This award will be available from 2011 to 2015.
