Welcome by the Hall Warden

A very warm welcome to all the 2013 students who will be residing in St Mary Hall. 

St Mary Hall consists of the lovely Lillian Britten, Phelps, Olive Schreiner and John Kotze residences.  Regardless of the residence to which you are allocated, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and you are guaranteed many new and wonderful friends, all YOU will need to do is to embrace the wonderful opportunities and experiences which come your way.

St Mary Hall is a Hall of Excellence, and we are located in the very heart of the Rhodes University campus and we are surrounded by beautiful gardens.  We believe in excellence in all of our endeavours, be these academic, sport, community engagement or involvement in the many committees and societies in our residences and on campus.  St Mary Hall has consistently been one of the top achievers academically amongst the under-graduate residences over the period 2007 to 2012.

Most of the residences in our hall have a mixture of single and double rooms, and we also have annexes where our senior (generally post-graduate) students live.

To the first year students of 2013, welcome to Rhodes University, welcome to St Mary Hall.  We look forward to the contribution which you will make to our Hall.
