Leadership of house

John Kotze House Committee 2009
The House Committee consists of five members and is voted for by the students at the end of the year. Their portfolios range from Community Rep, Secretary, Treasurer, Sport Rep and Resnet Rep. The University believes that every avenue needs to be explored to ensure that students have the chance to develop their leadership skills.
The House Committee arranges at least 4 residences functions per year, one per term. They range from corridor parties to picnics in the Botanical Garden which is arranged by the Entertainment representative in conjunction with the rest of the house.
Some of the exciting things the community representative arranges are community outreaches such as food drives, visits to old age homes, visits to children's homes and donating funds to community charity organisations.
Each of the representatives work closely with the house senior student, hall warden and the sub-wardens to ensure the wellbeing of all the students in the residences. They play a vital role in the successful running of the residence and they also act as mentors for first years.
