Welcome from the Warden
A very warm welcome to John Kotze Residence.
John Kotze Residence is part of the St Mary Dining Hall and we are located in beautiful gardens right in the centre of campus. Our residence has one of the most striking façades on campus and this façade mirrors the strength and grace of the ladies of John Kotze.
This residence consists of 72 single rooms in the main building and 4 rooms in an annexe, where some of our post-graduate students stay. Every room has a basin, single bed, wall-mounted heater (very necessary for our cold winters), an internet connection, a built-in wardrobe, a desk and a chair and these rooms are carpeted. Every student is provided with linen and curtains, although you may bring your own.
The leadership team for 2013 is
Sub-Wardens: Pamela Maluleke
House Committee: Head Student Leslie
At John Kotze residence we aim to make obtaining your degree a fun experience. While helping you keep your eye on the main goal of getting your degree, we encourage you to get involved in sporting activities, community engagement, committees and societies that will help you discover unexpected skills and talents. We would like you to meet many other students who will become life-time friends. We hope that in ten, twenty, fifty years’ time you will be returning to Rhodes to celebrate and remember the amazing time you had here in 2013.
Please remember that your Warden, Sub-Wardens and House Comm are here to help you so please ask us questions and we will help you settle in to the John Kotze and Rhodes way of life.
Welcome to the John Kotze family.
