Lindiwe Tsope is a Master’s student in the Department of Sociology. She holds a BA majoring in Psychology and Sociology as well as an Honours in Sociology both from Rhodes University. Her research interests are in the areas of sociology of health and illness, gender studies, and developmental studies. Her honours research looked at Rhodes University’s first years’ perceptions of gender inequality and gender roles in their daily environments. Her current research will be exploring the effects of the development of antiretroviral treatment on patients’ illness experiences since 1998.
