The final week of the Rhodes internal league had more drama, more twist and turns and more cliff hangers than B-grade Hollywood movie. By the end of the match played against the Heathens at the Great Field, they were huddled at the centre of the field concluding a season.
Twelve hours, 25 bikes, the challenge was on. The music was pumping. Sweat and a rose-coloured tint accompanied most cyclists. Spinning instructors kept us enthusiastic, pushing us to do drills, freezes (thigh-killers), hill climbs, sprints and various other nifty boredom-busters.
WITH four matches down, the Rhodes University Internal League rugby season has reached its halfway mark. This weekend's matches on the Great Field will be the last round of the competition's group stages and hungry fans will have to wait until next term for the knock-out stages.
