Burning for the greater good
Twelve hours, 25 bikes, the challenge was on. The music was pumping. Sweat and a rose-coloured tint accompanied most cyclists. Spinning instructors kept us enthusiastic, pushing us to do drills, freezes (thigh-killers), hill climbs, sprints and various other nifty boredom-busters.
Dark night looms for Rhodes
WITH four matches down, the Rhodes University Internal League rugby season has reached its halfway mark. This weekend's matches on the Great Field will be the last round of the competition's group stages and hungry fans will have to wait until next term for the knock-out stages.
Spinning for charity
Insipiring people to choose a healthier, more active lifestyle was one of the aims of last Friday's 12-hour Cyclathon at the Rhodes University Health Suite, which attracted 256 participants and started at 8am.
