It is confirmed that Rhodes Sport will play host to USSA Rugby National Institutional tournament from 30 June – 04 July 2014. This is a tournament that boasts 32 university teams divided into A, B, and C Sections; and is by far the biggest development tournament in SARU’s calendar. Due to the National Arts Festival, our main rugby field will not be used for this event, instead Rhodes Sport plans to convert both the Prospect Fields and King Field into rugby fields for the duration; a 4th and 5th fields will be sourced from either Kingswood College or St Andrew’s College.
He may be young but there is nothing inexperienced about Rhodes University’s B team rowing Coach Ryan MacNeil. The 22 year old became the teams coach just over two months ago and has managed to lead his team to victory in the 2012 Boat races in port Alfred.
