Configure Avast 4

• Start by right clicking on the Avast icon in the system tray, and selecting 'Program Settings...'.

• Now select 'Update Connections' from the list on the left. And then click on the 'Proxy...'.

• Check the check box next to 'Specify proxy server'
• Select 'HTTP' from the 'Type' combo box
• Enter 'wwwproxy.ru.ac.za' without the quotes into the Address field.
• Select 'Basic authentication (plaintext)' from the 'Authentication type' combo box
• Enter your Rhodes username (e.g. g05z9999) in the 'Username:' field
• Enter your Rhodes password in the 'Password:' field
• Click 'OK'

• Avast will check for updates on the Internet. If any are available, they will be downloaded and installed.
