Information Technology — Configuring Software @ Rhodes

To configure Mail to connect to Rhodes' LDAP address book, do the following:

• Start Mail, then go to the Mail menu and select Preferences (or press ⌘,).
• On the preferences pane, choose Composing
• Tick Automatically complete addresses and then click on the Configure LDAP... button
• Click on the plus sign (+) to add a new LDAP account
• On the Server Info dialog, enter the following:
  • Name: Rhodes University
  • Server: ldap.ru.ac.za
  • Port: 389
  • Search Base: subtree
• Click Save and then click Done
• Close the preferences pane
